La soif de l’or
(The Thirst for Gold)
Gérard Oury, 1993

Part of this French comedy was filmed on the property of Moulin des Marais, which operated up until the First World War. Urbain Donnadieu (Christian Clavier), the director of a company that builds prefabricated houses, was raised by his grandmother in a profit-loving culture. He converts money stolen from his company into gold ingots that he hides among the bricks of his house in the country. To avoid having to pay tax, Urbain and his grandmother decide to take the gold to Switzerland... and their house along with it! His wife, Fleurette (Catherine Jacob), a tax inspector, and her lover Jacques (Philippe Khorsand), a chauffeur and Urbain's best friend, are keen to get their hands on the loot. The crazy chase is on...
