Pièce Montée, Denys Granier, 2009
The church and the distillery...

Denys Granier-Deferre and his entire team spent more than three weeks filming in and around the Saint-Clair Church. For the occasion, a gleaming Rolls-Royce could be seen parked imposingly in the street. Apart from the two young leading actors, onlookers also had the chance to spot names such as Danielle Darrieux, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Aurore Clément, Julie Depardieu, Léa Drucker, Julie Gayet, Dominique Lavanant, Christophe Alévêque and Charlotte de Turckheim. Adapted from the Blandine Le Callet novel of the same name, Pièce Montée (The Wedding Cake) tells the story of a young couple – Bérangère (Clémence Poësy) and Vincent (Jérémie Renier) – who were married in a civil ceremony and now want to renew their vows before the priest. With the entire family present for the occasion, disaster looms when the abbey realises that the bride's grandmother is none other than his childhood sweetheart.

...popular film sets

The distillery has been used as backdrop for several feature-length films. In Diaboliquement Vôtre (Diabolically Yours) (1967), for example, Alain Delon passes in front of the building on his way home to the Château of Théméricourt. And in Les Aventures de Rabbi Jacob (The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob) (1973), Louis de Funès is lost deep in the countryside and trying to find his way when he passes in front of a factory that suddenly lights up... The distillery was also used for the casting of Une robe noire pour un tueur (1980), L'extra-terrestre (1999) and 36 quai des Orfèvres (2004).
